Recipe: Aiskrim Malaysia

banana for scale
  • 1 pack of corn starch (300g)
  • 4 cans of milk creamer**
  • 1/2 pack of sugar (25 spoons)**
  • flavouring** (the amount and type of flavour is up to your taste)
  • 1 spoonful of colouring**
  • the rest is boiled water to fill up my pail
*This recipe is in large quantities because the ice creams are for sale. I can make about 150 sticks with a 15cm length of ice cream with this recipe.

1. Put about 3 litters of water into a pot and boil it to simmer
2. While the water is simmering, put corn starch into another bowl and add some water(don't use warm water) then stir to blend
3. Add this corn starch liquid into the pot with simmering water then stir the mixture constantly until sticky. make sure to keep the heat low so that the corn starch doesn't solidify. in other words, avoid solidifying of the mixture. cook until it the mixture turns from white to cloudy
4. Filter and pour this mixture into a pail that contains all the ingredients with **
5. Add additional boiled water into the pail until desired volume
6. Put this mixture into ice cream plastics and tie them tightly so that they freeze faster
7. Wash them, clean them, then put them in the fridge lah

waaaallahhh...I sell 30sen each. kids and adults enjoy the ice creams so much they will be back everyday to buy them. sports day is among the best day to sell because I sold around 800 sticks of ice creams in just 1 day. I believe if I had more cold storage area, I could have sold 1500 of them per day...insane!

I intentionally make it smaller so that it is still affordable for everyone despite the current economy. other than that, the length makes it easier for storage and it is easier to tie if it's shorter. long ones hurt our fingers...hmmm

that's all with my sharing today.

THANKS FOR DROPPING BY!
